About Us
Since 2000, more than 38 million acres of forests have burned in the U.S. - equal to the land area of New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut combined. The costs simply to quell the fires and protect the homes of those living in the path of the wild fires have soared. As a result, there is not enough money left to stabilize the soil and plant trees on those burned sites.

That means no homes for wildlife to live, severe soil erosion, and streams clogged with useless debris.

But, each $1.00 donation will plant 1 tree to:

- Restore native tree species

- Prevent an influx of invasives

- Prevent erosion on hillsides

- Replant in areas where the soil had burned so hot trees cannot come back naturally

- Replant in areas around streams and creeks that otherwise would erode and severely damage water quality.

We believe in American Forests Global ReLeaf project because they have been planting trees to restore the land since 1875. Moreover, they rely almost entirely on contributions from friends and neighbors and small companies like Zia who spread word of mouth to help support this incredibly necessary work for the environment. In addition, a portion of each Skin Basics purchase will be donated through August, 2008 to American Forests' Global ReLeaf Project - so purchase Skin Basics today or go to American Forests website today to make a difference. Give the Gift of Tree. Your help is deeply appreciated, and your gift will keep on giving year after year.
